June 30, 2021

I am currently up in Colorado, but I am so happy to hear that a little bit of rain has made it to Northern Arizona. It was just beginning to rain when I left last Wednesday and it smelled like heaven. Let’s hope it’s the start of many more summer storms! Also, please forgive any bizarre formatting of this week’s email, as well as the lack of photos. I am doing it from an app on my phone and it just isn’t the same. Hopefully it looks alright!

This week we have a lot of delicious treats. Broccolini, summer squash, and potatoes are all making their first appearances of the season. Sanders’ Farm, in Camp Verde, has been providing the most delicious potatoes for more years than I can remember. Dave and Ramona Sanders grow their produce on a relatively small plot of land, but they get big results. You can find more of their produce at Verde Valley Farmers’ Market in Camp Verde each Saturday, along with extra goodies from Willowbrook Farm and other small, local growers.

Have a great week!
Meghan
