The fruit is here! It seems that everyone has fruit this week. We were offered over 300 lbs. of golden delicious apples alone, so it’s nice to know that the fruit is finally coming in. This week we have three kinds for you: apples, Asian pears, and plums. Asian pears are a crisp pear that is great with cheese or in a salad, but we’re sure you’ll find some way to enjoy them!

We also have shishito pepper again this week. For those who haven’t had them before (and might not have know what to do with them the week before last), shishitos are a mild pepper that is delicious cooked whole in a hot pan with a little oil. Just heat them until they blister and then enjoy them whole.

It has been a tough season for tomatoes and a number of other crops, but it is a great year for cucumbers. This week’s recipe is for quick refrigerator pickles. These are delicious, easy to make, and keep for a few weeks, so hopefully you can catch up with all the cukes.

Enjoy!
Meghan

Eggplant flowers are so pretty.

Corn is getting closer to harvest. Let’s hope the ear worms don’t get it first.

We love what Cory from Whipstone Farm feeds us.
