July 15, 2015

I am back from cool, wet Colorado and just slightly disappointed that the monsoons haven’t made their full arrival here yet. The weeds in my garden sure seem to be happy though, so I hope the cooler weather last week was good for all of our crops!

This week we are still in a little bit of a mid-season slump on the vegetable front, but we do get to enjoy some extra special treats: the season’s first tomatoes and peaches, honey, and pluots. Enjoy all the sweetness this week. I sure am looking forward to that first juicy peach!

It is hard to believe, but this is also the halfway point of the season. If you are paying in two installments, please send in your second payment of $275 by Wednesday, July 22nd, to Verde Valley CSA, 2773 Middle Verde Rd., Camp Verde, AZ 86322. If you do not wish to continue as a member of the CSA, please let us know as soon as possible so we can notify those on our waitlist. Thank you so much for your support of our local farmers!

Have a sweet week!
Meghan
