Welcome to the 9th season of Verde Valley CSA! We are looking forward to what we hope will be our best season yet. After a mild winter and plentiful Spring rains, the plants are thriving, trees are heavy with fruit, and fields are full of potential.

This week we are excited to include endive in your basket. This will be the only time we will have it this season, so we hope you enjoy it! I’ve included a recipe for a kale and endive salad below. When picking up your share, please remember to bring bags for your produce. We are no longer pre-bagging the shares delivered to Sedona.

For those of you picking up your shares in Cornville, please check out what Denise has to offer at the “extras” table. Among other items, eggs will be for sale for $5/dozen. After this week, eggs must be ordered, and you can sign up with Denise to place your order for the following week. Beginning next week in Sedona, Jen Marie, the owner of ChocolaTree, will have her eggs for sale, when available, inside the ChocolaTree Marketplace for $6/dozen.

If you haven’t already, please follow Verde Valley CSA on Facebook and Instagram. I will be sharing photos and bits of information throughout the season and hope to offer you a closer look at the workings of the farms growing your food.

Thanks for sharing in the bounty,
Meghan
